In a short blurb? We talk books.

I was pretty stoked when I got my PublishersLunch email this afternoon announcing that the Harry Potter ebooks are now available for purchase through Pottermore! I had been in between books and dragging my feet about delving into Mockingjay (as I’ve heard mostly disappointing reviews about it), and knew it was time to finally read Harry Potter. Yeah, you read that right. I did not say “read Harry Potter again,” or “for the 31st time,” or “for the first time in ebook format…” This is a fact that I try not to admit in crowds for fear of stoning, but I feel pretty safe in this internet-world protected by my stone-blocking screen: I HAVE NEVER READ HARRY POTTER. I swear, when I do manage to voice that, my publishing friends, and most other friends, for that matter, look at me like I am a freak of nature. Listen… I had a rebellious “I don’t like anything that anyone else likes…” childhood, and then an “I only read emo poetry and the occasional school novel” adolescence, and then a strange mix of “non-fiction or absurdist early 20th century lit only, please” during my college years, so no, J.K. Rowling never quite made it in there. But it is time, ya’ll. I can feel it.

I know some of you have probably already downloaded your ebooks and will be joining me on this epic-book journey.

So Happy Pottermore-ing, friends!

Just wanted to let our readers know that I, Jane, have badgered Carin about this for years so I am ecstatic… ECSTATIC… that this is finally happening. I might just re-read HP for the “31st time” or “for the first time in ebook format” 😉

“I think it makes more sense to write what you don’t know. To write what makes you uneasy, what you wonder about, what keeps you awake at night."
